Mental HealthHealth | Dis-ease
Depression, Anxiety, and Compulsive Behaviors are common mental health issues. Often such mental health issues can feel like being stuck in quicksand. It is a feeling of being caught in repetitive patterns of feelings, thoughts, and behaviors which keep us feeling down. By working in therapy together, we can begin to establish a source of stability and support. Mental health issues still carry a stigma in our society and this can contribute to a sense of isolation. It can be difficult to talk to friends and family about how you are feeling. Your therapist's office is a place to speak privately and in confidence, so that your true experiences are shared. Therapy can be the beginning of opening up about feelings that are often bottled up. In therapy, you will have a place to be as you are and your struggles will be understood from a more objective viewpoint. This often takes hard work, patience and perseverance. However, in our work together you will not be facing challenges alone. Therapy can be an effective solution for the treatment of mental health issues. An assessment will be completed in your first appointment to help us identify the issues more clearly. If it is determined that other resources could be more helpful to your situation, then recommendations will be made. |
